Some passengers have also been able to leave on government-organized flights.
Guests have been flown to several destinations around the world, including the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Spain, the United States and Brazil.
Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman of MSC Cruises, said the companyās teams both onboard and on land have been working around the clock to coordinate the complex repatriation effort.
āOur shipās command and crew have worked tirelessly to ensure guests are well cared for, while teams across our global network have focused on getting them home safely and as quickly as possible,ā Vago said in a statement.
He added that the company has received strong support from airline partners, particularly Emirates, as well as regional and national governments assisting with flight logistics and approvals.
While most passengers have now left the region, some guests remain onboard MSC Euribia. MSC says it is continuing to work to secure flights and safe onward travel for those still awaiting departure.
