Porter Airlines officially launches new Ottawa-Kelowna flights, further expanding its domestic network and strengthening connectivity across Canada.
The new Ottawa-Kelowna flights began operating this week with 5-weekly round-trip service and are scheduled to increase to 6 from June.
Porter Airlines is currently the only carrier that offers direct flights on this route, providing passengers with quicker and more convenient travel between the two cities.
Daily flight schedule
| Route | Departure | Arrival |
| Ottawa (YOW) to Kelowna (YLW) | 9:50 a.m. | 11:45 a.m. |
| Kelowna (YLW) to Ottawa (YOW) | 12:40 p.m. | 8:00 p.m |
The flights are operated using Porter’s 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, which features a two-by-two seating arrangement with no middle seats.
According to Kelowna International Airport, the aircraft is also among the most fuel-efficient and quietest single-aisle jets in its category.
Andrew Pierce, VP of reporting and Network Planning for Porter Airlines, said the new Ottawa-Kelowna flights are part of the airline’s broader strategy to improve connectivity across Canada.
In an official statement, he said that the expansion strengthens Porter’s Western Canada network, while creating ‘more convenient, reliable options’ for the travellers.
The local officials also welcomed this new route and highlighted the tourism and economic benefits.
Tom Dyas, Mayor of Kelowna, said, “Improving air access is an important part of supporting Kelowna’s economy and managing growth responsibly. This new non-stop connection to Ottawa strengthens our ties to Canada’s capital, supports local businesses, and makes it easier for visitors, investors, and families to travel to and from our region.”
These new Ottawa-Kelowna flights are part of Porter’s continuous expansion strategy across North America.
Earlier this year, Porter Airlines announced that its overall network is set to grow by 20% in 2026, marking one of the quickest expansion rates among North American airlines.
The new Ottawa-Kelowna flights are expected to boost travel options not only for leisure passengers but also for visitors and business travellers connecting to other Eastern Canadian destinations via Ottawa.
With Porter’s new service, Ottawa becomes the 22nd nonstop destination accessible from Kelowna, retaining its status as the 9th-busiest airport in Canada.
Bookings for the new routes are live through Porter’s official website.
