Winter fun is back on the slopes at Banff Sunshine Village in Alberta.

“Our team is extremely excited to see skiers and snowboarders back on Canada’s Best Snow after seven long months,” officials said after Monday’s opening.

“This season, we recommend all guests wear a non-medical face mask, with a neck gaiter. Mask/face coverings will be mandatory on all our lifts and in all our facilities. While at Sunshine, for the health of our community, we are kindly asking all guests to follow safe social distancing practices and abide by our signage. This season, we are focused and committed to being a safe and healthy place for Sunshiners to recreate.

“At present, we have five chairlifts open (Angel Express, Strawberry Express, Wolverine Express, Wawa and Jackrabbit), a magic carpet, and our gondola for skiers and snowboarders to enjoy. We are working to open more terrain as soon as Mother Nature allows us to do so. For riders eager to get their park flow back, we have opened a terrain park on Strawberry with 20 features.”

Discounted lift tickets are in effect until more lifts open up.

“As always, we have our Sunshine Express shuttle buses running daily from Banff to Sunshine Village. Sunshine’s Snow School, Rental Shops and select restaurants are now open for the season.

“Sunshine Mountain Lodge, Banff’s only ski-in, ski-out hotel, will open for the public on Thursday, November 12th.”
