The Trudeau government is expected to announce today that fully vaccinated Canadians returning from abroad by air will no longer be subjected to quarantine hotel stays or to a 14-day quarantine.
The Canadian government is expected to make the announcement at a press conference at noon today, according to Radio Canada, the Toronto Star and other publications.
A federal source familiar with the policy says the change will go into effect in early July, The Star reports.
A federal science panel two weeks ago said fully vaccinated travellers coming into Canada should not have to stay at a government-approved hotel while waiting for their COVID-19 test results.
