VANCOUVER SUN – With COVID-19 travel restrictions easing, Indigenous tour operators are pushing for more tourism aid as many are still struggling post-pandemic.

ā€œThe present state is still very critical. Yes, there have been some investments but we’ve lost hundreds-of-millions of dollars in revenue, jobs and people that were providing cultural experiences,ā€ Keith Henry, president and CEO of the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC), said.

ā€œIndigenous tourism is really on life support right now.ā€
