Air Canada Cuts Mean “Severe and Long-Lasting” Problems for Newfoundland

CBC – The latest round of Air Canada cuts to flights in and out of Newfoundland and Labrador will have severe and long-lastingĀ consequences on connecting the provinceĀ āĀ particularly people in rural communitiesĀ āĀ to the rest of Canada, warn the heads of two airports in the province.
Air Canada will drop its remaining flights in and out of Happy Valley-Goose Bay and Gander, and endĀ its Toronto-to-St.-John’s route as of Jan. 23,Ā the carrier said Tuesday evening, as it shrinks its serviceĀ across the country in an effort to stay afloat amid the pandemic.Ā
