Traveling between Alberta and New Brunswick is about to get simpler as Western and Atlantic Canada get connected. The simplified route, without a stopover, opens new avenues for Canadians to travel, discover, and experience more of Canada.
Flair Airlines has announced the first-ever nonstop commercial air service between Edmonton International Airport (YEG) and Saint John Airport (YSJ). The service launches on June 15, 2027, and will run twice a week.
Saint John is one of Edmonton’s largest Atlantic Canadian air travel markets, and most passengers currently connect through Toronto.
The opening of a new direct route from Edmonton to Saint John, N.B. removes the stopover for travellers in both directions. Introductory fares start at CAD $199 one way in both directions. While travellers have to wait till summer, you can reserve seats directly through the Flair Airlines website.
Flair becomes the first airline to announce a direct route, bridging the two cities with contrasting flavours.
Edmonton is best known for its massive scale, urban river valley, and a year-round calendar of massive cultural events running into more than 50 per year. It’s home to the North Saskatchewan River Valley Parks System, offering miles of pristine trails for biking, hiking, and snowshoeing right through the centre of the city.
Saint John, as Canada’s oldest incorporated city, shines bright with its rich maritime history, Victorian architecture, and its front-row seat to the highest tides in the world- the Bay of Fundy Tides and much more.
Planning to explore more of Canada? With a brand-new route opening up, now is a great time to talk with a travel advisor, who can help you build a trip around it and make the most of everything both cities have to offer.
