The season for Germany fall festival season 2026 has officially begun with the German National Tourist Board (GNTB) unveiling the autumn lineup for culinary, cultural and historic celebrations.

Released by the German National Tourist Office in Toronto on 16^th September 2026, the seasonal guide highlights major events across Bremen, Frankfurt, Berlin, Stuttgart, and Munich.

Event calendar for Germany fall festival season 2026

• 191^st Oktoberfest in Munich, to be held from 19^th September to 4^th October.
• Cannstatter Volksfest in Stuttgart (Wasen), to be held from 25^th September to 11^th October.
• Grape Harvest Festival in Neustadt an der Weinstraße, to be held from 25^th September to 12^th October.
• Frankfurt Book Fair in Frankfurt, to be held from 7^th October to 11^th October.
• Bremen Freimarkt in Bremen (Bürgerweide), to be held from 16^th October to 1^st November.
• New Fall Festival in Düsseldorf, to be held from 29^th October to 1^st November.

Tradition, culture and culinary heritage

Germany’s autumn events celebrate centuries of history alongside the modern artistic programming:

• Literature, lights and art – Berlin’s festival of lights illuminates its iconic landmarks under the ‘Colors of Love’ theme, Düsseldorf presents contemporary music at the New Fall Festival, and Frankfurt hosts the international publishing industry.
• Harvest and wine events – Neustadt an der Weinstraße highlights the Palatinate winemaking in a historic wine village, while Thuringia celebrates the Weimar Onion Market, which is the state’s oldest market tradition.
• Traditional folk festivals – Oktoberfest in Munich begins on September 19^th with traditional keg tapping, while Cannstatter Volksfest in Stuttgart gathers hundreds of vendors around the historic Fruit Column in Bremen, and the nearly 1,000-year-old Freimarkt celebrates its fifth season with more than 300 showmen.
