Boréalys Mont-Tremblant by UTMB Kicks Off This Week, Bringing 4,000 Runners to Québec

Québec is about to make trail running history. Boréalys Mont-Tremblant by UTMB launches August 14 to 16, 2026, marking the province’s first-ever event on the UTMB World Series circuit.
It promises to be one of a kind. Nearly 4,000 runners from 44 countries will descend on the Laurentians for three days of racing, putting Tremblant’s pedestrian village into a focal point. These athletes will test their endurance across six distinct courses.
What makes Boréalys Mont-Tremblant by UTMB different
Co-produced by Événements Harricana and UTMB World Series, the event offers six courses built for every skill level, from weekend warriors to elite ultra-runners. Things kick off Friday at 10 a.m. with a welcome run through the village, hosted by Jay Du Temple.
It is followed by major headline events like the grueling Odyssée 100K, which sends athletes across 81 kilometres and more than 4,000 metres of elevation gain. The marquee event starts in the dark at 5 a.m. Saturday.
Four of the core courses award Running Stones, granting participants direct entry into the lottery for the prestigious HOKA UTMB Mont-Blanc finals in Chamonix. Spectators and trail running enthusiasts can follow live progress through the LiveTrail platform while soaking in the electric atmosphere across the resort.

It’s an event to watch, as thousands of runners showcase their athleticism. Some notable runners include Elliot Cardin (CAN, UTMB® Index 873), Paul Vanoostveen (CAN, UTMB Index 782), Claudine Soucie (CAN, UTMB Index 719) and Camille Girard (CAN, UTMB Index 609) in the Odyssée 100K. The Tremblante 50K will feature Eli Nixon (BMU, UTMB Index 755), Cyril Dujardin (FR, UTMB Index 741), Elisa Morin (CAN, UTMB Index 769) and Valérie Arsenault (CAN, UTMB Index 755), among others.
In the 20K races, Thomas Boutet (CAN, UTMB Index 745) and Laurence Laplante (CAN, UTMB Index 624) will compete in the Diable, while Étienne Groleau (CAN, UTMB Index 652) and Fanny Hotton-Daigneault (CAN, UTMB Index 583) will line up for the Chutes-Croches.

A Village Built for 10,000
Race weekend isn’t just for runners. Beyond the competitive trails, the pedestrian village has transformed into a vibrant festival hub anticipating over 10,000 visitors throughout the weekend.
Fans can explore more than 40 exhibitors at the Ultra-Trail Village, enjoy local Québec folklore, and taste regional products like maple syrup and fudge at aid stations.
Spectators get three dedicated viewing zones along the course: the BUFF Cheer Zone at Domaine Saint-Bernard, the gondola-accessible HOKA Zone at Pic White, and the family-friendly Näak Zone at Base Nord.
Expect live entertainment, DJs, and food trucks to keep the energy high.
Leaving an impact
The landmark event also leaves a lasting community legacy. Behind the scenes, 370 volunteers keep the event running, while more than $160,000 raised so far is going toward the Tremblant Foundation, the Québec Epilepsy Association, and UTMB Care.
“This project was born here in Québec,” said UTMB World Series co-founder Michel Poletti, calling it a story of years-long trust between his organization and Événements Harricana.
For a resort already home to Ironman 70.3 Mont-Tremblant and the PwC Tremblant World Cup, Boréalys adds another marquee name to an already packed events calendar.
This historic first chapter cements Mont-Tremblant’s status as a world-class destination for outdoor adventure and global sport. And there’s more to come.
