Delta Opens a New Door to Europe With Austin’s First Nonstop Paris Flight

For travelers in Austin, getting to Paris is about to become a whole lot simpler.
Delta Air Lines will launch the first-ever nonstop service between Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and Paris-Charles de Gaulle on March 27, 2027, creating a new direct link between the Texas capital and one of Europe’s major gateways. The daily seasonal service is scheduled to operate through October 24, 2027, using an Airbus A330-900.
The announcement may sound like just another new airline route. For Austin, it’s more than that. Delta says the service will make it the only U.S. airline offering nonstop service from Austin to Europe, giving travelers in Central Texas a direct option to Paris rather than requiring a connection elsewhere.

From Austin to Paris and Far Beyond
The new route gives travelers a nonstop way to reach the French capital, but its value extends beyond Paris.
Through Delta’s joint venture with Air France-KLM, passengers will have one-stop access from Paris to nearly 70 destinations across Europe, India and Africa. That turns the new Austin service into more than a city-to-city connection; it also creates another gateway into Delta and its partners’ wider international network.
For travelers who would rather skip the usual airport shuffle before a long-haul trip, that is a meaningful change.
The route will operate on Delta’s Airbus A330-900, offering the airline’s premium cabin options alongside its Main Cabin service.
Delta has also been making changes closer to home, particularly on shorter flights. Earlier this year, the airline changed its onboard food and beverage service on flights under 350 miles, removing complimentary snacks and beverages from around 450 daily short-haul flights while expanding full snack and beverage service to some longer flights. Paris Is Part of a Much Bigger Austin Expansion
Delta says it expects to serve about 30 destinations from Austin and operate more than 70 departures on peak days by summer 2027.
Alongside Paris, Delta is planning new daily nonstop service from Austin to San Diego beginning April 12, 2027. The airline will also add a second daily Austin-San Jose flight, while its Austin-Cancún service will operate year-round.
In other words, Paris isn’t an isolated experiment. It is the headline addition to a wider push by Delta to build its presence at Austin-Bergstrom.
Airlines Keep Expanding the North American Network
Delta’s move also comes as airlines continue to adjust and expand their cross-border networks.
American Airlines, for example, has recently added new seasonal service linking New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport with Calgary and Québec City. The expansion gives travelers in those Canadian cities another direct option to New York and onward connections through the American Airlines network. Taken together, these developments show how airlines continue to reshape their networks in response to changing traveler demand, adding more nonstop options while strengthening connections through major gateways.
Why This Route Matters
Austin has been expanding its international air network, and nonstop service to Paris adds another major European destination.
For Delta, it also represents a deeper bet on Austin.
The airline has more than doubled its peak-day departures from the city since 2019 and nearly tripled the number of destinations it serves there since 2021.
That growth helps explain why the Paris announcement feels bigger than a single new route. Delta is building a larger network around Austin, while giving travelers more reasons to begin an international journey there.
And there is a certain symmetry to the choice of destination. Austin is known for music, food and creativity; Paris needs little introduction as a destination for culture, art, fashion and cuisine. Now the two cities will be directly connected.
When Can Travelers Fly?
The new Austin-Paris service begins March 27, 2027, and will operate daily during the summer season. Delta plans to fly the route through October 24, 2027, with the Airbus A330-900.
