March 14, 2021 Jim Byers
Cabot Cape Breton has announced it will reopen June 1. Exciting resort enhancements include the grand opening of the new highly anticipated third golf course, new real estate offerings and curated outdoor experiences. All guestrooms feature ocean views with nightly rates starting at $330.
The award-winning resort (ranked as one of the top resorts in Canada from Travel + Leisure and among the World’s 100 Greatest courses from Golf Digest) is located on over a mile of sandy beach near the world-renowned Cabot Trail, making it the perfect island escape for social distancing and outdoor adventures.
I’ve been a couple times and found the golf and the resort to be superb.
New Adventures:
- Along with hiking, biking and kayaking, new standout activities include heli-fly fishing on the Margaree River and beachside lobster ceilidhs with live music, fresh seafood and sunset bonfires.
- Guests can now book a private day trip adventure to Sable Island National Park Reserve, a wild and remote island well-known for its population of wild horses. The experience includes round-trip helicopter transfers, a guide and a delicious lunch + snacks.
Real Estate
- The Residences at Cabot Cliffs, a collection of eight seaside residences located along the 11th fairway at the heart of Cabot Cliffs, sold out in February 2021.
- Due to high demand, Cabot is now launching the new Hillside Homes. The two- and three-bedroom homes will offer proximity to one of the world’s greatest golf courses, as well as all of Cabot Cape Breton’s world-class amenities. Beyond the fairways, the Hillside Homes are ideally located near the future Cabot Cliffs Clubhouse and future Cabot Cliffs Health and Wellness Centre. Pricing starts at $1M.
Golf:
- The Nest, a new par-3, 10-hole short course from Rod Whitman and Dave Axland, perched atop the highest point of Cabot Cliffs, is set to celebrate its grand opening July 1. The shorter course with quicker pace of play is meant to be more inclusive and appealing to a variety of people including families, juniors and beginners along with scratch golfers.
