Prince Edward Island Hoping For a Big Tourism Rebound For the Summer of ’21

TheGlobeandMail – Last year, summertime didn’t look the same on Prince Edward Island.
With visitors from outside Atlantic Canada forced to quarantine upon arrival, business was down. Way down. The Atlantic Bubble, which allowed visitors from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland + Labrador to visit without quarantining, didn’t come into effect until July 3.
The plan to restart the Atlantic bubble in time for tourist season (it’s due to take effect Monday, April 19) gives key local attractions such as the Anne of Green Gables Museum near Cavendish some hope for a better summer than in 2020. Highlighting the life and works of beloved Canadian author Lucy Maud Montgomery, the museum draws visitors from around the world each year, including from Quebec and Ontario here at home and further afield from Japan.
