Greece is ready to start welcoming tourists again.\People who are vaccinated against Covid-19, have antibodies or test negative can travel to Greece this summer, Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis said recently.

“Greece is ready with a complete protocol for summer 2021,” he said. “Tourists will be welcome if before travel they are either vaccinated, or have antibodies, or test negative. All tourists will be subject to random testing.”

The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Sofia, Zacharaki said tourism can be allowed “because we have more tools than last year – vaccinations and more tests.”

“And we have updated protocols this year, based on conclusions from last year, which we have improved,” she said in a story at GreekCityTimes.com.

Zachariki said visitors will be allowed to come before mid-May if they’ve been vaccinated for COVID-19.

Athens also is ready, officials said.

“We have put in a lot of work to prepare Athens for the re-opening of tourism, and we are well past one million doses of vaccine delivered across Greece,” said Vangelis Vlachos, CEO of the Athens Development and Destination Management Agency. “We are looking at the light at the end of the tunnel, and I think there is good reason to be optimistic about the upcoming Greek summer.”
