The World’s 20 Most Romantic Destinations (Including Canada)

Just in time for spring (in the northern hemisphere) a UK company called Flowercard has come up with a list of the 20 most romantic places on the planet. There might be a couple surprises. Here’s their list, which is based on “romantic” reviews posted on Tripadvisor.

- Eiffel Tower, Paris
- Trevi Fountain, Rome
- Grand Canal, Venice
- Seine River, Paris
- Bellagio Hotel Fountains, Las Vegas
- Central Park, New York City
- Piazza San Marco, Venice
- Juliet’s Balcony, Verona, Italy
- The Taj Mahal, Agra, India
- The London Eye, London
- Empire State Building, New York City
- Pont Alexandre III, Paris
- Spanish Steps, Rome
- The Magic Fountain, Barcelona
- Luxembourg Gardens, Paris
- Niagara Falls, Canada
- Ponte Vecchio Bridge, Florence
- Ponte di Rialto, Venice
- Pont de Arts (Lovelock Bridge), Paris
- Sacre-Couer, Paris
For those of you keeping score at home, that’s a whopping six mentions (30% of the top 20) for Paris. That makes the City of Light by far the city winner. As for countries, Italy as a whole leads the way for countries with seven mentions, three in Venice. New York City got two spots in the top 20, both in the top 11.
