Breaking News: Canada-US Border Staying Closed Another Month

The Canadian U.S. land border is staying closed another month.
The last border closure order was due to expire tomorrow, April 21. The news was posted first on the U.S. Border Patrol website, which said the border will stay closed until May 21, 2021. Bill Blair, Canada’s public safety minister, issued the news on his Twitter feed around 9:30 a.m. today
The border technically is open, but only to what is deemed essential traffic, such as goods and services and for the movement of essential workers. Some family members also have been allowed to move over the border on humanitarian grounds.
Traffic is limited, but some flights still are taking place between the U.S. and Canada.
