US Will Allow Mixed Dosed Travellers

October 16, 2021 Marsha Mowers

The U.S. Centers For Disease Control (CDC) announced late Friday that visitors inoculated with any combination of two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine authorized by U.S. regulators or the World Health Organization will be considered fully vaccinated.

This is good news to the millions of Canadians who have mixed doses of AstraZeneca, Pfizer or Moderna.

While still not approved for use in the US, there was previous concern that travellers who had received either one or two shots of AstraZeneca would not be recognized as vaccinated.

The United States is set to reopen its borders to fully vaccinated travellers starting Nov. 8, and will apply to those travelling by air, land or passenger ferry. While passengers travelling by air will still need a negative test to enter the country, those travelling by land and sea will not.
